BIGAS VAI

I am dismissed innocently, the charge brought against me are

false and illegal, as no such charge of absence from duty or of any

other sort has been brought xix against me during my last 6 years

service, and the Head of the Sanitary Department has not investigated

the matters ee atated in my statement, I have done my duty properly

according to various clauses of my standing orders, the standing

orders are old and defective in respect of the work required from

verious Hill District Contracta, 1. e. conservancy and scavenging

contracts for the Hill District, many clause which do not coincide

with the clauses of Peak Watchmans stending, orders, but yet he 18

responsible to see that work is done properly, the Sanitary

Authority have not seen that the conditions of the Peck Patchmens

standing orders are corrected from time to time according to work

required from him, I have served in Kowloong for 13 months and am

very thankful to Mr. Pearse and Inspector Brown who always entered

in my standing orders all changes occurring from time to time for my

mw guidance and these gentlemen have been commending me good work, but

on the Peak through the lack of guidance I have done more work then

1s required of a foromen.

A

Inspector Fisher has not beon munished for violating the

condition No. 7 of my standing orders as he has been taking more

hours work from me than required by condition No. 7 28 when he

visited the Peak District he always called me to come out on duty

2 or 3 hours early and never giving any rernumeration for the extra

hours, and few months ago the present Chinese Peak foreman whose

duty is from 8 a. m. to 12 noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. was on 10 days

leave, and I was order to do his work in addition to mine, thus

for 10 days I remained on duty from 8 a.m. till 4 p.m. without

receiving any remuneration, this whole has been entered in the diery

The charges brought against me are only a plot perpetrated by

Bome Indians money lenders to take revenge from me for some

religious causes known as Sikh Temple affairs, who have deserted
